The flatware is produced in the small town of Kinsarvik, which has 500 inhabitants located on the Hardanger Fjord, Norway. The designs are inspired by the Scandinavian way of living, honesty, simplicity and functionality. The pewter flatware business was started in 1958 and comes with a lifetime warranty. They also guarantee that no design will retire. This is important to our customers, who often collect one or more of the designs over the years.

The Royal Pewter designs originated from events that took place in Scandinavia. almost 1000 years ago. Then only high ranking characters like Kings used pewter. Olav the Holy and his Viking men are the inspiration of the Royal Pewter flatware patterns. The Viking period was something more than an era of violence and barbaric customs. The Viking kings surrounded themselves with artists of various kinds, and it was a point of honor for the kings themselves to be able to handle artistry.
