Sons of Norway Trollheim Lodge 6-110
Den Norske Butikken is a project of Trollheim Lodge 6-110 in Lakewood Colorado. It is supported and operated by numerous volunteer hours from our Lodge Members wishing to promote our Scandinavian Heritage.
Den Norske Butikken Mission is to provide a service to Trollheim Lodge and the surrounding community by offering a variety of Scandinavian products.
To spread Scandinavian Heritage and Culture Severt Kvamme purchased merchandise that he carried in suitcases in his station wagon. During late 1985 until 1992 he would bring his merchandise to local ethnic fairs, churches and lodge meetings selling his wares to interested patrons.
In 1992 Trollheim Lodge purchased the current lodge building in Lakewood and Severt moved the merchandise from his station wagon and suitcases into two rooms within the new Trollheim Lodge.
From that time forward the store was named Den Norske Butikken.
With the opportunity to display merchandise on shelves at a stable location Den Norske Butikken was able to expand the inventory of Scandinavian merchandise. In about 1994 Den Norske Butikken expanded into a third room. In February of 2011 the Trollheim Lodge suffered severe flooding from broken frozen pipes. during the restoration process Den Norske Butikken was able to take advantage of the north entry doors to make a dedicated entrance directly into our wonderful Scandinavian General Store. We are now using our current entrance into the main Lodge meeting rooms for extra access during Lodge events, dinners & our huge Christmas Fair.
